Dr. Edgardo Zuniga, an accomplished Endodontist, leads the expert team at Lyon Endodontics PLC — a practice dedicated to advanced root canal treatments and microsurgery. Originally from Colombia, Dr. Zuniga earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2003. After practicing general dentistry for seven years, he pursued advanced training in the United States to deepen his expertise.
In 2011, Dr. Zuniga completed a prestigious fellowship in TMJD and Orofacial Pain at the University of Rochester’s Eastman Institute for Oral Health in New York. He continued his studies there, completing a two-year postdoctoral program in Advanced Education in General Dentistry in 2013. Driven by a passion for endodontics, Dr. Zuniga went on to complete a Master’s degree in Endodontics in 2015 through the University of Detroit Mercy in Michigan.
Dr. Zuniga’s commitment to his field extends beyond patient care. He has served as a full-time Clinical Assistant Professor of Endodontics for the past decade, teaching both graduate and undergraduate students.
At Lyon Endodontics, Dr. Zuniga is recognized for his proficiency in modern endodontic techniques, including advanced microscopic and microsurgical procedures. His dedication to excellence is underscored by his board eligibility with the American Board of Endodontists, as he actively pursues Diplomate status—a credential that highlights his commitment to ongoing education and the highest standards of care.
Dr. Zuniga is a proud member of the American Association of Endodontists, the American Dental Association, and the Michigan Association of Endodontists.
Outside of work, Dr. Zuniga enjoys quality time with family and friends, traveling, cycling, and indulging in his love for classic cars and antiques. With years of experience and a deep dedication to patient-centered care, Dr. Zuniga strives to provide an exceptional level of professionalism, compassion, and expertise in every aspect of his practice.
